Barely two months after the assessment visit and continuing consultation through line communications resulted to the "quantum leap' or chan ges in it s economic activities. From sleepy and rustic sceneries prior to the assessment, the town center is now transforming into a center of economic activities. A new market is under construction to accommodate market day and "night flea' market activities. The town is the entry point of the Province of Zamboanga-Sibuguey from the Province of Zamboanga del Sur. And through this strategic advantage farm products of the municipality displayed during market days are brought by traders to the municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga-Sibuguey. Aside from rice and root crops as ¡ªtraditional exports" the Municipal Veterinarian reported that they have an increasing number of heads of pig and cattle butchered during market days to accommodate the needs of other municipalities.
Pailig advise the municipality in economic, social services, environmental and infrastructural needs. Through a municipal resolution and accreditation processes Pailig is now bound to deliver the much needed technical assistance (TA) to the new pa rtne r mun icipality.
